Tibetan Buddhist mantra hand carved "Om Mani Padme Hum" pendant on a waxed woven cotton cord sliding knot. Adjustable necklace with a sliding knot. It can stretch up to about 26".
Mani pendant is made by yak bones with mantra hand carved on the pendant accented with two tiny white yak bone beads. Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the written form of the mantra is said to have the same effect -- it is also often carved into stones, and placed where people can see them.
Pendant size: 2.2" x.5".
